Well, we made it! Midterm, first break of the year; it's all coming together this week!
Some reminders/announcements:
-Progress reports will be sent home with students next Monday, September 19. If you are a person who doesn't like surprises (I don't--I read movie synopsis' online before I go to movies I'm not sure about), be sure you've checked your students' grade on engrade! Also, please discuss this grade with your student, and read the comments provided by the teacher about the individual assignments.
Don't have their code? Send me an e-mail at kfink@discoveryschool.edu.hn so I can provide you with another copy!
-Discovery School's Honduran Independence Day Celebration will be held this Tuesday, September 13. Middle school and high school students will be having a potluck Honduran breakfast with their Homeroom teacher during period 1 (8-8:50 am), and then heading to 2nd period before re-joining their Homeroom teacher for our 10:00-11:45 Independence Day festivities. Please double-check with your student what they signed up to bring for the potluck.
Parents: you are welcome to join us for the festivities starting at 10:00!
-No school: Please be ready to pick up your student promptly at 11:45 on Tuesday, and remember there is no school from Wednesday, September 14-Friday, September 16. Classes resume as usual on Monday, September 19.
As this week is a short one, there is very little happening in Room #4...
6th grade: Remember the graphs and charts section of your quiz is DUE on Monday!! Failure to return this will result in a zero for that portion of the quiz! This quiz directly affects your midterm grade. On Monday, we will be checking in with our Quarter 1 goals, and then playing some fun Latitude and Longitude games in class! Have fun at the Independence Day festivities on Tuesday, and have a safe and fun Holiday weekend!
--
7th grade: Don't forget your 1-page (front-side only) notes for Monday's quiz! I am not sure whether you will have class with me on Tuesday, or if you will be reporting to Ms. Dinora to practice for your Independence Day activity...Have fun at the Independence Day festivities on Tuesday, and have a safe and fun Holiday weekend!
--
8th grade: On Monday we will check in with our Quarter 1 goals, and then we will be playing the Ancient Mesopotamia Trade game in class. Have fun at the Independence Day festivities on Tuesday, and have a safe and fun Holiday weekend!
--
9th grade: Don't forget your 1-page (front-side only) notes for Monday's quiz! Also, please remember what goodie you signed up to bring for our potluck breakfast on Tuesday! You will be with me for the Honduran Independence Day festivities! Have a safe and fun Holiday weekend!
--
Again, I hope everyone has a safe and fun Holiday weekend, and that you each return to school refreshed and ready to begin our new learning units!
