NO SCHOOL ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 30!!

Good evening all:

Due to security reasons, Discovery School will not be open on Wednesday, March 30. Please stay inside and be safe (and do this work, too!):

6th grade: Please be sure you read document 2 (in the packet) and do those remaining two questions.

->ALSO, please come create a K-W-L chart (Know-Want to Know-Learned) about IMMIGRATION (see the picture below). Fill in the Know part with things you know about Immigration. Fill in the Want to Know part with any questions you have (or anything you THINK you know but aren't sure about). Leave the Learned part blank...we will fill that in later :)
--

7th grade: Please read and take notes on the information from the following websites so you can be ready for a discussion when we return to school:
http://www.europeword.com/blog/europe/european-imperialism/
Also, click through the headings on this site to get to know about Imperialism in India:
http://asms.k12.ar.us/classes/humanities/worldstud/97-98/imper/india/india.htm
--

8th grade: Please continue your assignment from today's class...now you have no excuse not to have all the extra credit done! :)

->ALSO, in the spirit of the painting of all the dead animals on the Renaissance Connection website, I would like you to please peruse some of the links on this website:
http://www.pbm.com/~lindahl/food.html
It is a great source for recipes and information about food during the Renaissance. Please choose one recipe from the Renaissance (1300s-1600s) and either:
1) re-create (to the best of your ability, with foods you have in your house) the recipe (and send me a picture or bring it to school to share (the recipe, too)!
2) draw a pictorial recipe (ie: 2 onions (and then draw a picture of 2 onions) as well as what you think the final product would have looked like...remember, the world was not black and white during the Renaissance, so please add color!
--

Thank you to all for keeping up with your work during this time off...and please stay home tomorrow!!
