**UPDATED** 5-day week: January 24-28

Hello all:

Next week you can look forward to:

6th: We are going to finish the Explorers unit tomorrow (Friday) and will review on Monday for our quiz Tuesday. On Wednesday we will start looking at the direct result of the Explorations: Colonialism. We will look at the 2 first colonies in the Americas: L'Anse aux Meadows (Vikings) and the Spanish colonies in Latin America and the Caribbean. We will also take a peek at the Benedictine Monks in these colonies.
--

7th: **UPDATED** Due to the disjointed week because of MAP tests, we haven't clipped along as well as I'd like (there are a few things I need you to know about the Qin and Han Dynasties before we move along to the Tang or the Song) so I will be postponing your debate until next week so you can get all caught up. We will finish this week looking at the similarities and differences between the Shang, Zhou, Qin, and Han dynasties, the ideas of Confucius, Daoism, Legalism, and looking at what happened during the Period of Disunity and how the Sui brought China back together.
--

8th: Hopefully you are enjoying your introduction to Feudalism and Manoralism, because we will be continuing to look at this for quite a bit of time! Next week we will do something hard but worthwhile: we will be looking at a 13th century Manoral Contract! on Monday, and then get to that movie about Castles on Tuesday...on Wednesday-Friday we will be working in teams (or individually, you choose) to make our own Manors!
--

Seniors: Since you are going to be eating on Thursday we won't have class (awwwww!) but we will on Friday! We need to get cracking on the Yearbook, so we will be working on that on Friday.
--

There you have it...moving right along with this school year! (I heard an elementary teacher saying something about the 100th day of school? Wow!!)

Have a good one!
KF
