8th Grade: List of (meddling?) Women in History

Hi 8th Grade:

Hopefully you found some good information during class today, and that you keep looking this weekend. I am excited for our debate on Monday!

Just as a reminder, some of the women we talked about today were:
-Theodora (of course)
-Cleopatra
-Eleanor of Aquitaine
-Anne Boleyn
-Catherine of Aragon
-Eva Peron
-Edith Galt Wilson

There are, of course, others.

Please remember, you are either arguing for or against the idea that wives of rulers should not be able to play a role in the governmental policy of their ruling spouse. Remember Theodora's input vastly influenced Justinian's reign in the Byzantine Empire. You are not looking for positive or negative things about the women themselves, just their role in government.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to e-mail me! Looking forward to Monday's debate! :)
